Who would have thought.....a Rugby Union stalwart joining forces with the QRL!
Cameron Lillicrap, owner of the LOCKEROOM brand, has Rugby Union in his blood.
He started his playing career with Souths Juniors as an Under 7 and finished as a Queensland Red and Wallaby prop in the Rugby glory days of the 1980's.
So it will come as a surprise to some that his Company, XLSPORT proudly announces its partnership with the Queensland Rugby League, as its preferred Tape supplier for the next three years......but not to those who know him.
Cam's passion is not a code, it's 'playing footy'.
His mission is to ensure that athletes, especially football players, of all ages and abilities have access to high quality, inexpensive tapes to help them prevent injury and keep them on the field, and he should know! He has extensive experience with sporting injuries, both those he has treated for the last 23 years as a Physiotherapist and those he has had himself as a player!
He also knows tape, having taped more than 28 000 knees, ankles, shoulders and wrists in his ten years as Team Physiotherapist for the Australian Wallabies following his playing career.
Cam says " Footy of any code is aggressive, and avoiding injury is a key consideration. Preventative strapping goes a long way to reducing joint sprains which can keep a player off the field for several weeks. When you are a passionate footy player, that's not what you want!"
